Let’s face it, there’s a lot of snake-oil salesmen out there and there’s been many a time when we’ve had to think on our feet and often we come up short when confronted with these people.
Many of us only think of questions to ask or answers to give afterwards and not at the time. And that is hugely frustrating, it’s as if a part of our mind switched off at the crucial moment, and it did, but it doesn’t have to in future.
The internet is full of opinions masked as facts and the main stream media seems to be suffering from some sort of collective madness, TV shows, movies, the news, they are all full of propaganda. We are bombarded with information and most of it is nonsense.
But how do we know it’s nonsense? How do we separate fact from fiction? How do we keep good information and throw the rest away?
The answer lies in discernment
Quantum Q-liminals Discernment – Clarity of Thought are designed to get you to:
Cut through all of the BS that’s about these days
Know when the news/media is feeding you garbage (which is more often than you think)
Easily distinguish between fact and fiction
Eliminate time wasting activities from now on (the one thing we can never replace is our time)
Use your whole brain – left brain logical and right brain creative sides
Easily tell when you are being fed a lie
Gain a sharp and powerful mind
Learn to question everything, it becomes second nature
Ask the right questions, no more kicking yourself for not asking them at the time
We all want to be able to think on our feet. Think of better answers or questions to ask. In fact we all would like to question and properly discern the barrage of information that comes at us daily. We want to separate fact from the B.S.
dis·cern·ment (d-sûrnmnt, -zûrn-)
1. The act or process of exhibiting keen insight and good judgment.
2. Keenness of insight and judgment.
We are bombarded with information and often we end up confused, and this is because much of the information we receive is conflicting. For many of us this confusion means we end up doing what others do, even if it just for the sake of an easier life.
But this can be damaging, for our reasoning skills and our health.
Discernment vs Judgement
“an opinion or estimate, criticism or censure, power of comparing or deciding”.
Judgment implies a power differential – I perceive myself to have power over you when I judge you (for example, “you’re a loser!”).
Judgment feeds the ego’s deception of being better (or worse) than someone or something else.
Judgment assumes that the person judging has the power and right to determine what is good or bad in general, not just from their point of view.
It usually comes from a reactive place inside of us, like a knee-jerk when the doctor strikes the mallet on that joint – it’s unconscious.
Judgment also has a sense of finality, like a sentence being passed. We know what it’s like to feel judged by someone else: it sticks to you like duct tape, and at times you find yourself feeling the pain of that condemnation days or even years later.
however, is a more personal and conscious approach. It’s the cognitive ability of a person to distinguish what is appropriate or inappropriate.
With discernment we make good choices for ourselves, and for the good of others.
Webster’s dictionary says that to discern is to “separate (a thing) mentally from another or others; recognize as separate or different” and “to perceive or recognize; make out clearly”.
Discernment is described as “keen perception; insight; acumen”. Viveka, the Sanskrit word for discernment, is about seeing things as they are.
Insight is seeing into something, from our inner self, not from outer rigid standards, opinions, or social pressures.
When we use Viveka, we are tapping into something much deeper than our egos passing judgment. We are using the ability to perceive clearly.
Finding Clarity in Life
Much of life can be confusing and we often sit on the fence when we know we should be making decisions, decisions that propel us forward.
No-one likes to stagnate and that’s not what life is meant to be like.
Clarity comes from having discernment and relying on that discernment to sort the wheat from the chaff.
What if, we could easily sort out the good information from the bad?
What if we could easily discard much of the information we receive and just keep hold of the information that empowers us, makes us feel more secure and happier with the choices we make? What if we could think on our feet, think of better questions and answers when in company?
